hand made exhaust

hi all,
ive only had my gsx-s a few weeks, but just couldnt wait to replace the std power/ flow reducing exhaust,
so i decided to build my own, ive built a few exhausts for bikes - mainly my own or mates bikes, ive just finished the header parts to the first collecters, ive got the secondry pipes and tailpipe to go, the bike came with a yoshi muffler which im planning on refabbing to suit a larger tailpipe (57mm v.s 54mm).
ive also got a bmc airfilter, mra screen and a r2 nitron shock to fit, just got to figure out how to post pics
Beaker, m0bnd and twag4 like this.

Sounds good mate you sound talented!
Yes post the pics when you can I would love to see.
As for me I am happy to pay few hundred bucks and get the slip on I like.
I ended up getting the Ixil L2 X.
Couldn't be happier, easy on the eye, simple, light, just a bit louder than std.
All the best wait for the pics

just an update, finally got it finished, on test run its very lean in the lower half of rev range, very pronounced stumble when the fuel cut activates, but once it starts to rev its hauling much better, its going to get tuned/ reflashed on thursday, so ill try to figure out how to post the dyno result online, ive also glued up the pair valves, put a bmc airfilter in, and removed the air box plate from under the filter, ive re arranged the yoshi muffler inlet to suit the larger tailpipe, so it will be interesting to see the power curve, its definetly going harder so hoping for 150-155hp at the wheel

dyno tuner - inertia vs brake dyno

hi, just got back from droppin of the bike at tuners, he has a brake dyno which he claims is better for tuning, but he says it will give a true indication of torque & hp, he said that inertia dyno's are very easy to give false impressions, im not sure about them but a freind who also did very impressive porting said he prefered brake dyno's , so now ive got to wait till saturday to pick it up, then i will photo the pipe and dyno sheet and post them up

i think i know the difference now, drastically lower figures !, on his dyno my bike only made 122rwhp, as a comparision he said a fully raced 2015 gsxr1000 made 160rwhp, i can attest to the bike pulling alot harder than b4, the only glitch in the delivery was a small dip in torque below 3500rpm, after that the torque curve is very good, powerband is constant progressive curve, reaches 120hp by 9500rpm and maintains it till 11500rpm, il try to get my brother to help me post the pic i took of the chart 2moro

In my mind dynos are only good for back to back comparisons. It's the gain and the feel that's important, not the absolute number. My stock bike gained ~10hp and was way better to ride after its reflash, I don't need (or want) to go comparing the absolute numbers for my bike on that dyno against other bikes on different dynos because it really doesn't prove anything other than different dynos in different conditions give different results.
