Shad Saddlebagsd and Top Cases

So I have been emailing with Shad regarding the hard luggage they manufacture. Specifically the SH36 side cases which they do not offer a mounting kit for our bikes.

I and planning on picking a set up this winter and facing upo the brackets to make these bags work on the 2016 GSX-S1000F. They after a universal Pbracket which allows the end user to fabricate the mounting points and weld them to the bracket for attachment.

I will be updating this thread as this progresses. Hopefully i will be able to get the bags and universal brackets in the next month or so.

It is such a shame that Suzuki does not really offer bags like these as an option on this bike for those that want to tour on it. And I do not really care for the options that Givi offers.

Well the bags came in last Friday and I just now got a chance to take some pics.

The mounts are a universal mounts ( raw tubing ) that will allow me to fabricate the attachment points on the bike. It will mostly be utilizing the passenger pegs at some point and the 4 points of attachment for the rear plate and signal holder if that makes sense.

Finally Got a weekend in the shop

Well my boss and I finally got some time in the shop to fabricate the brackets for the bags.
You can view the images I have of them on the bike on a site I am working on putting together.
Obviously these will get a nice coat of black powder coat to help them disappear into the bike.

That's some nice fabrication. I like my Shad bag on my other bike, but their customer service is terrible after the sale. Of course, Givi wasn't much better with my previous bag. Good luck on getting it all finished, love seeing pics of fabrication like this.

Funny how those bags look normal on a lot of bikes, but this really shows how small the butt end of our bikes are.

I wish Shad would offer a mount for our bikes, was it difficult to fab the mounts? Do you have the part # for the universal kit you started with?

Fabrication was not bad really, but to be honest my boss has an eye for these things. As far as the universal P Brackets are concerned, they did not provide me with part #'s. When I contacted them I told them that I was wanting to purchase a set of bags and would fabricate my own mounting brackets and they told me then that they had this kit.

The Universal P Brackets were $70 and honestly we only used the tubing and the plastic end caps. we made completely different brackets for the attachment at the passenger pegs.

I could always ask my boss if he would be interested in fabricating any more brackets for those that might be interested and the cost to do so.

That would be great if you could do that, I'm sure a few others would be interested as well.
