GSXS1000 Ergonomics.

Street fighters have a more straight up riding position than their sport bike counterparts. The problem with that is you already lack wind protection on a naked bike, coupled with an upright riding position you get TONS of buffeting around the helmet.

Wondering if anyone will be contemplating altering the ergos?

I'm interested in looking at clip ons/clubmans and maybe even rear sets...

You?

I will be looking into making the ergo's work best for me. Just not sure at this point what sitting on the gsxs will be like for me, since we don't have much to go off of right now.

I'm hoping that the GSXS1000 will have a pretty sporty riding position. Upright just isn't going to work for me. Too much wind resistance for a bike like this.

here's a quick visual from cycle ergo, I used me on a gixxer vs me on a z1000 which I assume will be similar to the GSXS. Keep in mind this is crude.

Good comparison between the two.
How tall are you?

Do you prefer the more forward leaning position or more upright? I think I want to be leaning a bit more.

I'm 5 foot 8. I do like the hunched over sporty position, but then I've also spent quite a bit of time on racing bicycles. Keep in mind the more upright position is much friendlier to the wrists and the core...

There is something about the sporty position that intrigues me though. feels like you are holding on for dear life, instead of sitting atop something. I like it. Plus a good core work out is nice.

absolutely, but do remember that if you're not engaging your core it can be downright brutal on your hips and lower back.

When I feel good (most of the time) the position is unbeatable IMO, on the odd days I feel tight and wonky, its downright murder...

good with the bad you know...

I mean I can just not ride on those days though. I'm not planning on riding every single day.
