Helmet hooks - what were they thinking?

One of the things I loved about my SV1000 was the 2 frame-mounted helmet hooks under the pillion seat. They were easy to use and kept my helmet locked on the bike securely.

When I arrived at work this morning, I popped the pillion seat only to find that they'd decided not to do this any more.

I then glanced at the seat underside, only to realise that the hooks are now part of the seat base.

Awkward to use, and plastic.... ugh.

A step backwards, Mr. Suzuki.

Yea, me too. I'm used to them on my V-Strom and they are super handy. Big disappointment along with no hazard flashers.

Ya, i was pretty bummed about that also. It is super awkward to attach the helmet to the seat. What ive done is got 2 carribeaners (about $6) and attached them to the rail under the seat that the rear hook under the seat latches into. Works like a charm

I dunno why I didn't think of that. I have plenty of them lying around at home already!
