F-Model: Continues to Impress
Hi All! Love the bike. Took my first favorite "long" ride to Jerome since got bike in February. First gas stop numbers: 201.1 miles and 3.86 gallons for 52.02 mpg. And the computer said it had 31 miles left! Now on this ride cause I do try to make a first gas stop destination, I don't top end the bike or redline gears etc. Interstate speeds were below 90 mph and did not exceed 6000 rpm just because there was no need to search for power.
The bike handles so much easier than previous ride, seems like 2/3 effort for same or greater speed. Maybe some of you do this as "normal," but I found myself downshifting two or three gears because gearbox is so smooth when entering some very tight corner entries (I could never do that on previous rides).
On way back its all freeway. To combat no cruise control, I used a Crampbuster. Worked good. Because the prevailing speed is high (and its downhill) I hit the ton couple times. The return trip shows 106.1 miles and remaining range of 110 miles. Ha! Got a tad bit of DB (dead butt), so may have to address that if seat foam doesn't loosen up. Otherwise, body feels good and can ride tomorrow no problem. Very happy bike is delivering in all areas I had hoped!
