Gloves and boots??

What's up dudes? Looking into getting a new set of gloves and possibly getting some riding specific footwear. What do you use? Gloves or boots/shoes and why do you like or hate them? Thanks, really wanting the full metal dainese gloves but 300$ is a pcv lol? As far as footwear I'm leaning towards something that I can wear all day and not have to change when I hop off the bike like tcx street ace or Joe rocket atomics. Any input is appreciated.

Garage
I can vouch for the tcx street ace air, fantastic shoe. Comfortable enough for walking around, some protection (not crash tested, thankfully) and good feel on the controls.

I bought a pair of the Sidi Armada boots back in September and really like them. Alpinestars gp plus gloves. Took a little break in time but really like them and have alot protection and reasonably priced.

I wear Falco Shiro boots. They are like baseball boots with some protection.

Gauntlet is over kill for the street. But gauntlet gloves will certainly protect more. The thing to keep in mind about short cuff gloves is, the closure system is paramount. Keeping the glove on your hand when your sliding down the street is the first step. Many short cuff gloves will not stay on your hands because the closure system isn't secure enough. Also, buy gloves with hard palm sliders.

I have used a lot of gloves and my favorites are Knox Handroid, Held, RST, Spidi, Astars, Dainese (all can be purchased at Sportbiketrackgear). For footwear I would get a riding shoe/short boot. You can see the large selection in the riding shoe/short boot category here:

Nice one Ralph, found out it's illegal to ride a motorcycle with a costume on in the next state over(VA) though lol. Thank you everyone else though I'll look into the suggestions.

I have found that the first thing I look for in boots now is that they are well vented. I ride mostly in hot weather and when I had unvented boots my feet would be burning.

For gloves I use the Alpinestars SP-8 which I got 4 years ago and while they are great gloves I am not sure how well they would hold up in a crash being so old. I've probably done about 80,000 kms of riding in them. There is significant wear visible. I should replace them this season but not sure what to get. The Scorpion SG3 gets good reviews so maybe that, or maybe the AGV Sport Echelon. Anybody got any other suggestions? I don't see a reason not to get gauntlet gloves as they are only slightly more money than shorty gloves and I don't find them any less comfortable to wear, so may as well have the superior protection.

With gloves its all about price point. The gloves your mentioning seem to be gauntlet gloves around the $100-$150 range? I like the SG3's because of the Knox Palm Sliders. But in that price range these are my favorite.

Was $150. On closeout now for $99.
