Kickstand Extended

Don't know if any one thinks the kickstand is too short but I extended mine by 1 inch. The bike doesn't lean over so much on the stand now. I'm planning on replacing the 190/50 with a 190/55 tire which will raise the rear about 3/8 of an inch making the lean even worse. The stand is made out of tubular stock and a good welder can support the inside with some round stock and weld some metal around the inner piece. Mine looks like it came out of the factory when it was completed and cost me $75.00. Sits much better now.

I think the lean is fine, same as most other bikes. Why do you think the lean was too much?

I have several bikes and this one leans over quite a bit more than the others.

If anything I'd prefer a deeper lean, there are places I've had to jostle around to park because uneven ground left the bike too upright to be stable.

With my B-King I used to put a piece of wood under the stand as it was too heavy to lift (I had bad arthritis at the time).
Unfortunately I had a slow puncture in the rear tyre the bike over balanced and toppled over during the night.
I learned my lesson, better to be safe than sorry.

OP, you might like my Superduke's kickstand, it's so long I've considered shortening it.

I like to leave my kickstand down as I back out of precarious situations so if my foot slips on a bit of gravel or whatever the stand will act as a failsafe and keep the bike from falling over. The Superduke's stand is so long I can't leave it down for fear it will sproing me over to the opposite side as I back out.

My GSXS stand feels just right for my use.

After getting my 1 inch extended kickstand back from the welders I have determined that my calculation of 1 inch was too long. It is acceptable but maybe a slight bit too long. I think 1/2 inch would have been better or possibly leave it stock. Wasn't worth the effort.
