I was reading about this BS yesterday!
So the first thing I'm thinking is what real benefits are coming from this not for us but the Government.
First up the Government makes heaps of revenue from speeding fines so
there has to be some money making scam And their not just going to say oh well we have spent
millions on speed cameras and radar detectors so we Have no use for them anymore so we will
Just chuck them in the bin now.

I can see a lot of people buying new bikes/cars before this comes in to effect. I'm just about old enough to remember when they brought in power restrictions on mopeds on the late 70s/ early 80s and models that weren't restricted became very popular.

I see a market for megnets emerging....attach to your black box. Might as well pass it over the gps chip too.

Tape will do wonders for the camera.

The usa has a few laws in place making it illegal to actively track someone in their car with gps without their consent or a warrant....i wonder how this tech would get around that.

This is an EU directive so you should be safe for a while. Then it will be fitted as standard to all vehicles globally for most manufacturers but will not be enabled, then a pressure group will start saying that having this enabled would have saved poor little Jemima, then the Government legislates to make it compulsory.

Hopefully by the time I can no longer get a nanny state controlled bike/car I will be beyond caring!

Because of global homogenization this is exactly my fear....controlling our cars and bikes will be a little easier once they are electric too.
Once companies like vw, that are global empires, buy into it, we are screwed.

I'm sure there's gonna be a market for hacking software kind a like jailbreaking your iPhone
