My Quest For The Final Slip-On

Some of you may know I have been through a few Slip-ons. First the Yoshi Alpha (which fit my subsequent Arrow headers, both sold on the Forum). Then the Akrapovic (sold on the Forum), Then a Delkevic, then the new release European Akrapovic (will be for sale, as it fits only our stock 45mm exhaust outlet), then the Leo Vince Euro Titanium. I now feel I have reached the end of the rainbow!

(The new Euro Akra I will sell is absolutely gorgeous, but I had to jerry-rig the 45mm inlet to slip inside my 50mm header outlet using foil exhaust tape, not at all correct and reduced power).

It has been a challenge as the Arrow headers and Paul's headers have 50mm outlet. Most slip-ons out there are made for our stock 45mm outlet.

I stumbled upon a company named Race Fit out of England who make high quality exhaust systems, including a "Black Edition "Moto2 style" Carbon/Titanium slip-on for our bike that is a "Shorty" which I really liked the looks of. But, again offered only in 45mm inlet to fit our stock headers. In that each piece is made to order, and after much pleading, I convinced them to make me a custom one-off with a 50mm inlet!

The package arrived in a cylindrical tube which was strange (but effective)! The "silencer" is so loud, they included ear plugs LOL! I decided to slap on an "SC Project" emblem as it looks bad ass and makes me feel better. I used my Leo Vince carbon heat shield. Perfect.

Yesterday on my initial test run, for the first time, the front end came up in 3rd gear, just hard on the gas! It runs and sounds amazing (but loud)! I think I have finally found the keeper.

Certainly looks the part. I was also drawn to the racefit but realized it would be far too loud for my liking.
Glad you found the solution after all your searching

It's a carbon fiber beer can!

I kid, I kid. Looks very tidy (and loud).

That looks great! Isn't that the same company that made Paul's Ti cans?

They make some great stuff at Racefit and are race exhaust specialists.

I had trouble opening you picture, but Yes! That's the same guy I saw that picture on Ebay and started the wheels turning!

I actually communicated with the seller. But his was 45mm inlet for stock headers, so I didn't buy it. But I loved the way the silencer looked (with the SC Project sticker), and yes, his seems to end at a different angle than mine, I think because he had it made and installed at Race Fit in England.

I'll post a pic from the back angle.
