Same here. ABS is worth the $500. If it saves you once you are probably ahead of the game.
The dealer tried (unintentionally?) to screw me when I bought my bike. I said that I had to have an ABS naked model. Color wasn't important. They were all set to sell me a grey model and started the paperwork. While waiting I noticed online that all of the ABS models that year were blue and black. It also didn't have the ABS sticker on the fender. It did have the speed rings on the rims but was for the TC. Short story is what I thought was a good price really wasn't because it didn't have ABS. I ended up ordering an ABS model and we spit the difference in price for the ABS upgrade.
