Qld Australia

Hi guys,

Picked up my brand new Jizz machine today. Somewhat terrifying but love it. Pray for me.

Only got double crash knobs from ebay so far. Ugly but oh well.
Waiting for my cheap chinese leds indicators before I install mustardbike tail tidy.
I'll probably add a radguard and that'll be it...

AUD$14,850; 1 year single seat rego; free first service; 1yr road side assist. My goal was $14,700 but couldn't wait.

Tailtidy was $65 ($115 with free $50 ebay voucher)
Crashknobs $200
Being a tight ass, I'm hoping to get discount on the RadGuard radiator guard as well. Let me know if anyone else in Brizzy wants one.

QLD rules are very relaxed. Learner rider on a powerful 1000. Good luck with it all & ride safe. Liking the price you paid too. Good job

This bike isn't under the QLD LAM's scheme, max is a 660 cc anyway.
So either he's taking the piss or in for a rude shock.

People who put "crashknobs" on a street bike make me laugh. It's like wrapping your car in bubble-wrap, because you plan on crashing it...

Yeah, it probably doesn't offer any protection in a significant crash but it does prevent some cosmetic damage during slow speeds or stationary drops. Touch wood.

???

I'm on my restricted RE license (1yr) so I need to ride supervised as an R learner with L plates until I do the unrestricted R test (soon).

Yes and on an RE licence you are limited to a Learners approved motorcycle~ LAM. Check the regulations.

If you've had your RE license for 1 year in QLD, you're allowed to ride an Open class bike....As long as you've got suitable supervision and a L plate on the back.

This is straight out of the Queensland Motorcycle Rider Guide - Section 3 - Rules For Riders:

"If you have a class RE learner licence you must only ride LAM scheme motorcycles. This restriction
does not apply if you’re learning to ride a class R motorcycle."

Yes that's correct as long as you have held the RE licence for a minimum of 1 year you can ride this bike under supervision. You then need to pass the Q Ride course to get R or Open licence.
My impression was he hasn't had a licence that long.
