Suzuki has issued a recall of the GSX-S1000 and the GSX-S1000F for a potentially faulty radiator hose. No specific consequences or risks were given.
‘The recall affects 174 registered motorcycles in the UK, and has been instigated due to a radiator hose clearance concern. Despite no reported issues in the UK, customer safety and satisfaction is the highest priority, and Suzuki has elected to commence a recall to fit a new component to avoid any potential issues in future.'
'Customers affected with officially imported and registered machines will receive a letter from Suzuki shortly after the modification parts arrive, advising them to contact their local authorised Suzuki dealership, who will carry out the fitment of the new component free of charge. The work will take less than one hour to complete.’
Suzuki UK has no documented issues, but they have decided to issue the recall regardless.
Think it might be about top rad hose on left hand side, it seems rather close to exhaust headers. I put some heat tape on inside of hose (not visible ) just to be on the safe side. Haven't received recall letter yet but now my traction control select button has stuck in! So a trip too dealers today is in order as it's stuck in mode three (boring) lol.
A little updating.
I have received two letters:
1) Possible problem at the radiator hose that could come in contact with the exhaust manifold;
2) Suzuki found that the radiator hose has been mounted improperly;
Two letters for say the same thing, I think.
