Hi

Hi all Christina from Bournemouth UK . Traded my totally mint K5 1000 for a new 2017 phantom model about 6 weeks ago . Had to move away from sports bike . Off to the IOM next year so wanted something i could ride more than 80 miles without pain ! Happy with it , it's booked in for first service this Saturday . It has awful ( unpredictable ) throttle and surging like so many others seem to suffer from . Wierd thing is it was ok for the first 200 or so miles , Has an r11 end can as option from new . My 1000 K5 was brutal with yoshie , bmc and power commander , but always predictable . Any hoo , stumbled on the forum and just saying HI for now

Love the Phantom.

A PCV and throttle tamer has made mine (2016) 99% good. Making sure the TPS is set right is also important, as I'm sure you know.

Anyhow, welcome to the forum!

Welcome so sorry about the surging snatchy throttle, I personally got lucky and didn't have the problem but don't give up on her its a gem once you get it right.

Hi all . Had the first service Saturday , I was a bit peaved at paying for something I'd usually do myself , but as I've never bought new before thought it best to entrust it to the dealer for the first one . Put the db killer back in the R11 can and adjusted the play out of the throttle before I took it in and it seemd to respond well . Dealer's gonna do me a good deal on a PC5 I'll fit myself with default map with a view to decat it and custom map when I have more pennies ! How'd u put a picture on here ? 🏍😀

I was hoping that the 2018's (the 1000Z is an 18 model in the US) did not have the fueling/throttle issues that previous years have been dealing with.

From what I can make out they are better , mine responded well to putting the DB killer back in and adjusting the throttle . But there is room for improvement , the workshop manager agreed with that too .
