Finally hello from Ontario

After a long deliberation, countless reviews, hesitations, YouTube videos, multiple motorcycle shows, and lurking around this and many other forms, I have finally pulled the trigger and bought a 2018 gsx-S1000/Y .

Hoping to spend much of my bad weather free time reading here how to improve my sunny weather free time.
No pix as yet, Im not due to get my ride for another 2 or 3 weeks . which is ok, im north of Toronto and wont be missing any good weather from the looks of it

Im 47, 6'4, and 240, and some pretty bad joints so I had to give up the gsxR , this looks like as much fun with much less pain.

Welcome Leethal! Lets see a pic! I wish the 1000Y was valuable down here in the US but the dealers say it's not even available to order. Or the 1000FZ for that matter.

I'm 5'7 and 145. One size fits all. Lol.

Welcome, once I hit 48 the Busa had to go the lean was too painful. This bike will give you a lot of thrills not as top end fast but its not really feasible to hit top end speeds on these increasingly crowded roads. Hopefully you will grow to love the GSXS as I have...

Hi fellow Ontarian and welcome! I am sure you'll enjoy the new toy when winter decides to finally let go.

Don't forget pics, when available. The new colors are really nice.

yeah i second that, ive had back fusion surgery, now my neck doesnt seem to co-operate with the warp speed type motorcycles i desire to ride , so that was main reason i went with the gsx-s, could be age related as im now over 50 and have a fairly numerous injury count to various bits of the body, which doesnt help!

Hi all!
It absolutely is. I changed pretty much for the same reasons and, if anything, I think the new ergo's have increased my riding enjoyment back to where it was when I was a teenager

Enjoy!
