New 2016 GSX-S1000 Owner!

Greetings from the Midwest USA (Utah)

Been riding for about ten years, started with an R6, then GSX-R600, CB1000R, Monster 1200 and now this GSX-S1000.

Just got my new ride this weekend and found this forum when searching potential "jerky throttle" fixes - seems like a common issue. Hopefully I can find a solid fix without spending too much.

Anyone here know what the "L6" in GSX-S1000L6 would refer to?

Thanks!

I adjusted my throttle position sensor (TPS) using the voltage method and I think my throttle is pretty darn smooth now. It's a lot better than when I got it. With that said the engine braking is perhaps a bit stronger than I'd like and contributes to the feeling of throttle sensitivity. I'm not sure I care enough to get it flashed though. YMMV. There are a tons of posts on adjusting the TPS; perhaps read up and then see if you have any questions. I'm sure the community would be happy to help.

Yep, look for the TPS fix on here. It's free. Start with that and go from there. Or you can go my route, and say "Can't be TPS" and throw money at it first and then fix the TPS and be fixed. I'm happy with the money spent though, but I'd rather have started with the free easy stuff.

This pdf will be very helpful in general info on your bike, including and especially the fairing removal.
