So many cool bikes y'all have had!
My dad used to have an '82 Seca 550 that he wanted to trade in for an 1100 Katana.
I started with an 06 Katana 600. (gsxf600 to you non-north north Americans lol) so not as cool as some of all yours. But a good starter!
And now have my 2018 gsxs1000z.

I love this.
I've always said when trying to explain to people who ask "Why ride a bike when you can drive a car", there are so many bikes to satisfy so many needs.
Looking through the lists and photos it's clear that most bikers have sampled a wide, eclectic range of bikes over their years, and I bet my last quid that every single bike, no matter how different to the next, has had you all giggling, smiling, loving life, but all in different ways.
I've owned sports bikes (awesome fun), commuters (awesome fun), trail bikes (awesome fun) sports tourer (awesome fun) and more.........see a pattern.
Currently I have the GSX-1000f, my 1st ever brand new bike, an RMZ450 and a 1978 400cc superdream.
Started out at 6 years old with a Puch scrambler, then another at 10.
Yam XT250 ( 1st geared bike at 14)
Yam DT125 (1st road bike at 16)
Honda CB400superfour (1st "big bike" at 17)
2x GSXR 600's (2004 & 2005)
1982 GSX650 (American import)
Honda CBR1000f (awesome road train, crap in the Twisties)
Suzuki TLS (loads of fun)
And hopefully plenty more

Here's a little collage of a few of my previous bikes.
2003 Honda Magna (VFR-750)
2005 Suzuki V-Strom 650
2009 Kawasaki Ninja 500 (EX-500)
2015 Yamaha FZ-07
I miss all of them. Not a problem with any of them.

The bike I traded in for the GSX. Gawd I will miss riding it, but I won't miss troubleshooting the electrical gremlins.
Before the Buell, I put the track bike back in street clothes thinking it was a good idea. It was a terrible idea. Here she is looking somewhat respectable, though.
While the R1 was doing track duty, the S2R 1000 filled in for street duty. I got a lot of tickets on this thing. And pissed off the neighbors every time I started it.

For a short time ('70-'71) I had a Ducati thumper, a 350 I think (don't really remember it well). Wasn't much of a fan of that bike.
My next bike was a '75 Norton 850 Commando Roadster. I really liked that bike, rode it for maybe 10 years before I laid it down and bent the frame. Sold it to a younger guy who was going to build a racer out of it.
Then last month (after 30+ years of not riding anything) I bought a new 2018 white S1000F sight-unseen. Needless to say, it was a big change from my Norton! I've put 800 miles on it so far, and I'm liking it more and more every day. It's my daily driver to work and back, and weekends just tooling around. I did put a G2 throttle tamer on it, which made a distinct difference in the throttle. In fact, when I got home after my first ride I told the wife that I was going to name the bike "Lurch", but after installing the throttle tamer I've decided to rename it "The Duchess", because #1 ) it is descended from royal bloodlines (that base engine in the '06 GSXR currently holds the record for quickest production bike 0-60 ever tested, which makes that bike the King) and #2 ) my son rides a KTM Duke.
