SF Bay area- good routes

I will be visiting the area from the UK at the end of September/November and will have a bike loaned to me.
I will be riding out of the Stockton area and am looking for a good out and back route of around 200 miles.
Any suggestions guys? I like the Twisty bits verrrrrrry much.
PS. Not Yosemite cos I will be going there by car for a few days.

I think some people ride Hwy 108 out to Topaz Lake or Hwy 88, or Highway 4 is always a good option. Haven't ridden those roads so I can't comment.

I'm about 1 hour away from Stockton heading west. I ride Hwy 128/121 around Lake Berryessa. Awesome roads.

There are a tonne. Pretty much can't go wrong in the Sierra Nevadas north of Yosemite.
Here are a couple routes some guys have already put together for around that area:
SR49, SR20 and Dog Bar Road
French Meadows Reservoir and Ice House road - OMFG!!!
French Meadows Reservoir-Ice House Road Variation
Mosquito Ridge Road - a bit of background on why this area is so bloody awesome!
Finally, Pashnit County Motorcycle Tours (not to take but for ideas)

Jeez, Now I want to go back ride some more and I was just in California a couple weeks ago wearing out a set of tires :P

Previous bikes:

  • 2007 Kawasaki Z750s - 24000kms of exploration
  • 2008 Triumph Sprint ST 1050 - 51000 kms of Adventure
  • 2013 Yamaha FZ8 - 33000 kms of awesomeness
  • 2016 Suzuki GSXS1000 - still a work in progess

Yeah I wish I could but I am taking the family there in a car for a few days.
I am over from the UK for my sons wedding.
The ride-out will be after we return to Stockton from Yosemite.
Am looking at Topaz lake it's about a 280ml round trip which is as much as I would want, especially if I can't see anything but trees.

bay area's best riding is here (see map) Hwy 84 and 35 intersect ...lookup Alice's restaurant. Fresh new pavement, no police, and all amongst California's Giant Redwoods.

Thanks very much for that I will give it some thought. That has prompted me to look more at the area and Mount Hamilton via
Del Puerto Canyon Road and CA130 W. also looks like a good trip. Wish I was staying longer!
Thanks once more to everyone for their input.
