Oh no......... now my front end feels stiff and lifeless compared to my other ride............ what a difference a month makes.

We're here for a good time, not a long time. (woolich, PCv, K&N, T-Rex, HM plus SS)

The standard advice is not to start it unless you're going to ride it. If you don't get everything hot you can get water in the oil and exhaust that might eventually cause problems. But, if you're letting it warm up fully, I don't think the engine would care whether you were gently revving it stationary, or moving down the road. You certainly don't want to start it up cold and rev the crap out of it right away...I've seen people do that even at dealers, makes me cringe. I think there is an advantage to circulating the oil periodically, as the longer it sits, the less oil is on the moving parts at start-up. I never let mine go more than about two weeks without either riding or putting it on a battery tender. I'm kind of surprised a battery that wasn't pretty new would hold its charge over a winter with no boosting.

well i started bike in cold warehouse today...temp outside was 8 deg...been a cold week..so temps inside maybe not 8 deg but was darn cold...bike started right up...but i found this interesting...soon as it started rpm was 1750..i would always see 1500......usually id see rpm bars jump back an forth as it warmed up....this time extra cold weather... rpm bars did not jump back an forth at all not once...went from 1750..to 1500 to 1250 to 1000....so ecu adjustment where perfect in very cold weather....in 30 deg weather rpm bars would jump up down until warm.....little things interest me maybe someone find its interesting also........i did ride it around the warehouse for 10 min smooth as silk...10 min warm up then 10 min ride in 1st

it was cold last night in Jupiter. was like 60F. Here near Miami/Fort Lauderdale, it got down to like 48F a few weeks ago.

But i did like 30+ years of all year riding in Queens/Nassau County NY, so i did my time in the cold.
