Factory Rear Shock settings

Curiously the factory rear shock settings in the handbook are different for the S and F versions.
The naked is set at position 4 and the F is set at position 3. I wonder why?

Maybe the difference is due to the extra 25 pounds weight F bike has? Not sure, but it's my guess.

Position 4 is a harder setting than 3, so you would think that the naked should be on 3 & the f on 4.

Us naked riders need another notch for the extra testosterone we carry about!

Can't imagine the real reason for it, perhaps it's because the extra weight on the forks with the fairing they needed to lower the back to get the geometry right again?
Sandyman and JeffroGymnast like this.
