Eliminating front brake squeal

My front brakes squeal under moderate braking (but not under light or very hard braking). I don't remember exactly when this problem started but it did not happen when the bike was new, I think it only developed recently.

Anyways I did some googling and some are saying that the way to fix front brake squeal is to take out the pads and apply brake lube to the backs of the pads because the noise is caused when the caliper pistons contact the back of the pad. Does that sound right to you guys?

My front brakes squeal too, and have plenty of material left. I actually have some brake lube on hand, so maybe I'll give this a shot...

Yes I have done that on a previous bike, the squeal is vibration and the grease should settle it

I applied the glue stuff and it stopped the noise for a week.
I put a fair bit on there too.
The bonus is that it reduced the soft spongy feel to the lever.

I lubed the back of the pads and it has greatly reduced the squeal, but not eliminated it completely.
