Front fork help.

I wonder if gsxr front forks can be fitted to our bike. And how much oil we need to refill the gsxs front fork. Thanks.

Why do we say " Front forks?"
Do any motorcycles have forks in the back?

I hate to be the a-hole that finds the ONE example. This is not a photoshopped bike, it is real.

Offroad motorcycles were a huge business, in the 70's , and Harley wanted in on it. They contracted with an Italian firm to build mx bikes, and offroad machines.

The idea was, in the day, forks were really good. Shocks, not so much. Shocks were getting layed down, and being overworked due to the new leverage rations involved.

So, why not use forks, for the rear, and they did.

Our local shop had one. It started out near 2000.00 dollars, which was huge for the time. I believe it ended up being sold for 550.00.

I imagine its worth 15k today, if not more.

Still no excuse. We called them "front forks" way before this pos was ever built!

The bike was a total pos, but the rear..uh, "suspension" was rated highly.

I cannot think of another example. Have you guys ever seen anything else?

There are quite a few with a swing arms on the front but I didn't know of any with forks on the rear until reading rcannon's post.
So I guess as we always say "rear swing arm" it's only natural to say "front forks"
