Touring Setup?

I know that some use the s1000f for touring but have not seen many setups. Can anyone post some pics of the saddlebags they use for touring. A discussion of preferred brands would be appreciated. Thanks.

I invested in the Givi Sport-T line of kit. The cases are 44L combined (they weigh 22 lbs full of gear), the tank bag (ring mount) is 5L at ~2 lbs full, and I have a 22L tail bag which weighs 5-7 lbs full of gear. I did one trip where I needed my Kriega R15 (mostly for a water bladder). There's enough room for mounting tents, sleeping bags, and other bits with ROK straps.

It's a tight squeeze with both a tail bag and backpack but I make it work for "commuting" to/from my destination.

Here it is with just the cases and tank bag.

Edit: Here are links if you want to replicate my setup. Revzilla seems out of stock but you should be able to find everything over at https://www.twistedthrottle.com/shop...s1000f-15/givi.

That setup looks fantastic lost! I think the white F is what I would have gotten if it was available when I bought mine. ... not that I'm sad about my Triton Blue, it's second best IMHO.
LEAVEITSTOCK and lost like this.

Here is my touring setup. I have the SW-Motech Blaze saddle bags and kriega US-20 tail bag. I was able to fit things for one week tour of Norway. Only problem is that I would prefer the tail bag beeing a little further bag to have more room to move while riding. For next summers tour I am thinking about getting a tank bag as well.

I have a custom setup that I was able to fabricate the mounting brackets for when I worked for No-Mar Tire Changer.

The Bags are from Shad and they also have some universal P brackets that we modified to fit the GSXS.

I'm a fan of the Ventura setup. You get the "L" brackets to fit your bike. Then you get the "Pack Rack". Then you get one or two bags from Ventura and you're set. I love that at the end of the day I go "ZIP, ZIP, CLICK, CLICK" and lift my two bags off the bike and head into the hotel while my pals are screwing around with their bungy cords and straps and hard luggage 'inserts'. The next day is just as easy. Slide the bag over the pack rack; click the two strap buckles that hold the bags at the bottom to the pack rack. Zip one bag to the other (zipper on each side)...and ride. Quick, easy, fast.

I pack everything that is in the Ventura bags into those plastic Walmart bags. Keeps stuff dry and organized. The bags sit on the pillon area like a passenger. I've 'tested' stability (on a CBR929) up to 145mph - all good.
Here's the link to a thread on here about the Ventura setup: https://www.gsxs1000.org/forum/tires...tura-rack.html

Thanks all for the ideas. I guess I'm particular to the Givi Sport-T saddlebags. I have a bmw k1300s at the moment and like to strap my tent and SW motech bag over the top of the saddlebags. Works well and is easy. I think I could do the same with the Givi bags. I also like the tank-fitting sw motech tank bag. It has a low form fitting profile that looks good on the s1000f.

Anyone use the GIVI tank lock bag. Looks pretty sleek.

I bought a 2nd bike for touring, but my Kriega US-30 fits nicely on the GSXS.

What do you guys think of this, would it work with our bike? TourPack by Rev-Pack

The tank bag I listed above is a Tanklock, just not the specific one you're interested. The tanklock bags work very well. Easy on/off for those stops at the gas station.
