Rust spots

Due to being an inpatient muppet, I put on the suzuki clear tank protectors when it was still a bit cold here in the UK instead of waiting for the weather to warm up and as consequence they were difficult to fit.
I noticed soon after that there were what appeared to be 3 air bubble these I now think we're actually little specks of grit which seem to have caused three tiny rough spots underneath the protectors don't know whether to remove the Protector and have a better look but risk exposing them to the air or whether just to leave them as they don't seem to be getting any worse , if they are rust spots any suggestions guys?

Doubt it's rust.... I'd whip them off then lightly use some 3M Finesse.. not T Cut, then a good buff up with some Carnuber wax...

How did you not see them before you fitted the protector? Are you sure it's not just something stuck in between the protector and the tank?
