Generally electric fan motors, especially for environmentally exposed applications, are sealed units. In peaking around my fairing, best I can see, this is the case for ours, with a metal housing actually. Disassembly would compromise the seal, and in most cases, only shorten the remaining lifespan.

I'm curious about the noise though, whistling is not how I would describe a failing motor noise. Did this suddenly start? Can you post video with the noise? In my experience, there is a whine/whistle associated with these fans, but not an indication of failure.

That could be a description of mine as well, and also a Gixxer. I can hear mine with helmet and earplugs while riding at 40 mph or so. While a failure is not out of the question, this sounds normal to me.

Nothing to worry about that is how they are meant to sound my GSXR 750 was exactly the same.

Probably so you know it is on as there is no indicator on the dash : - )

Cool

I'll make a video of it, it's the second summer wit that bike, last year it didn't make tha noise even at the very beginning of the summer it didn't made that noise. Even if it's not a sign of failure, it kind of annoying
