I just slapped on a set of road 5s about 300 miles ago so I'm sorry to here that. But... it seems like tire problems come in clusters and may or may not be a sign of design weakness. It's seems like kind of a crap shoot. I think it's one of the reasons some people can be so religious about one particular brand/model and others are about something else. I did my homework, and the overall reviews of the R5 are about as good as anything out there, but your post does have me a little concerned because they are fairly new. So far, everything about these tires has been a quantum leaps above stock (especially after 6K miles), but I never felt the original Dunlops gripped as good or cornered as good as these, and the Dunlops were horrible when cold here in SLC. I hope it was just bad luck and your tires are fine now.
