Headlights

I never liked the one side low beam one side high beam factory setup. I swapped out the H7s for LED H4s and rewired everything. Now both low beams are on, and the high beam switch controls both high beams just like the setup in a car

Nice! I'm growing tired of people pointing and telling me I have a bulb out. I appreciate it, mind you, but it's annoying to have to explain it to someone as they're trying to get across the street before the walk signal ends.

Aren't the reflectors asymmetrical, so one H7 can be high beam and the other low? Did you find a what to compensate for that?

It was a little bit more complicated than it looks because each headlight was on it's own circuit and the H7 bulbs only have one filament. The main part though was a custom designed headlight wiring adapter that a firm called Innovative wiring was able to make for me. It is a dual H7 to dual H4 adapter with a relay. They do quality work and will make more of these on request. The other tricky part was to get the H4 headlight socket adapter to fit into the H7 holder. The H4 is a physically larger bulb so I took a rotary tool to the H4 socket adapter and took enough material off of it to make it fit. The only other pieces required are the headlights and new dust seals. Only do this with LED otherwise the draw will be too high and will overload the original wiring. The reflectors may be different as someone has pointed out but I'd rather have it set up like this than the original way.
