Heading to the bike shop to order my bike today, coming off an SV1000.

On a related note, ebay has these cheap slip-ons, in stock locally.

Anyone tried them, or heard anything?

Welcome mate, good to see another Perth boy on here.
I have not yet heard any of these pipes on a Bike myself, however, all reports from a mate in the know claims that they don't make much difference, except a little louder.
I do have another mate has bought one of these, yet not picked his bike up yet, which will allow me to hear it's note first hand some time this month.

Hi Rod

Welcome from another Perth owner !
BTW I also had a SV1000 a few years ago.
If you go the Ixil exhaust, I would be keen to hear your findings. (I had twin Ixil's on a previous ER6F and they were a good build and sound, with dB killers in - Way too loud without them)

I recall stumbling across a video on youtube featuring this exhaust. Search it.
All slip-ons for this bike will not sound much louder or meaner than stock because of the emissions canister under the bike that creates most of the sound deadening...so I was told by my inside guy at Yoshimura. I have their Alpha slip-on and the bike sounds essentially the same...maybe a dip deeper tone. Jonesing for the full Arrow header system.

Thanks for the heads-up. I don't mind the sound stock, so I'll probably just leave it as-is. The only upside from these slip-ons is aesthetics I guess, in that it'd look different to everything else out there, and the price isn't unreasonable. I might give them a go in time.

The paperwork is all written up, just awaiting my signature. I'm heading to the shop later today to close it out. The only problem here is that I can't afford to keep both. In Australia, we pay a lot to keep vehicles registered and insured annually, and the plates aren't transferable between bikes. Even though you can only ride one at a time, you have to pay for all of them, so out goes the SV...
