So I just ordered one of these:

An ATLAS Throttle Lock.

Set me back $196 AUD including postage.

I have tried the Omni Cruise (which I hated), and currently have the KAOKO Cruise Control installed (it works, but I find it a little fiddly trying to twist the throttle and screw at the same time. Plus you have to back-off in order to twist the throttle again and engage the screw, or use your left hand to engage the screw. Either way, I'm not 100% happy with it, but it's my only option for now).

Does anyone already have an ATLAS Throttle Lock?

My only concern at this stage is making sure it doesn't hit the tank with the handlebars on full lock.

Will let you guys know how it goes. Whether it's good, or whether I just blew $196. Lol.

Oh, and the website to order if you live in AUS is here: https://atlasthrottlelock.glopal.com/en-AU/

At least it's universal so I can always sell it if it doesn't work or fit the GSXS for some reason :)

So my concern is if you have to panic stop for any reason, you have to remember to press that button.
With the kaoko you just rock your throttle forward. It also seems like an eye sore compared to the kaoko but that's an opinion not an objective fact.

It looks like a more expensive version of the NEP. If you can get the Atlas to work you can probably get the NEP to work and it's much cheaper. I didn't have space between the grip and the throttle cable box the get the NEP to work with unmodified stock grips.

Yeah my mate has a NEP on his Tuono. We tried to get it to work on my bike with no luck. The ATLAS rotates with the throttle, but the NEP has to stay in a fixed position by holding onto your throttle cables. Due to the throttle cables being at the top of the throttle, rather than underneath, it means the NEP is upside down.

Apart from that, we just couldn't find a way to install it in order to get it to work properly :(

Hi. I know this is an old thread, whether but I've been looking into the atlas throttle lock and wondering what the outcome was, whether it fitted and if it was successful?

Thanks in advance

I replaced my grips with Pro-Grip 731s (much better than stock imho anyway) and that made room for the Nep CC-4 to fit perfectly in the groove of the stock throttle tube. Works perfectly, and cheap.

I have a Kaoko on my FJ-09 and I love it, works great and looks great. I only use it if I'm doing a long ride , hour or more. I loosen it up so it's not catching and when I want to use it's just a quarter turn which I can do with one hand, takes a few seconds to adjust my speed once I engage it.

I had a Kaoko on my F before I put on the Nep. I hated it. Way too fiddly to get the tension right. The Nep is a simple and works with the flip of a lever.

Mike, did you have to remove the plastic washer thingy on the throttle tube to get it to fit? Otherwise it seems to be too tight, even with the set screw backed all the way out.

I'm at work and don't have any pictures (I do somewhere, I'll try to dig them up - or take more).

So do you mean that extra ring on the throttle tube? I don't remember a washer, but I did it a while ago. With the original grip off, there was a channel .that the original grip was overmoded into. Once the original grip was off the nep fit nicely into the groove between the outer lip (which the pro-grip 731 just buts up against) and the inner lip for the throttle cable stuff. I remember I had to anchor it with a zip tie to the throttle cable housing just right so it wouldn't interfer with the throttle twist, but one I got it set, it's been working perfectly. I use it all the time to shake out my throttle hand (or make sure I haven't lost my wallet). ;;)

Yes, that extra ring. It's attached to the throttle tube and sits inside that groove. The CC4 sits on top of it unless it's removed.

I'll look at it tonight and get back to you. I don't think I had to cut anything and mine sits in the groove. I'll take a closer look and see if I can figure out what I did.

Thanks Mike. It's difficult to see if that ring is there or not as it would sit right under the CC4. I'm assuming it will have to come out. Here is a pic I took of what I'm talking about

Hmmm...
Okay... I think I remember doing some xacto surgery on the protrusions between the two rings now. On mine, I think they just held the stock over-molded throttle side grip in place and I think I may have just razor knifed those off to create a clear channel for the nep.

Sorry I'm so old and forgetful... It looks like that might work for you though.

Keep in mind I did a couple of unsuccessful iterations with a different version of the nep, so I think I might have done the xacto surgery on a prior unsuccessful attempt, and then it worked when I found the right model of the nep. At this point I could be creating false memories though. ;)

Lol. No problem. I'm just being lazy by not wanting to take the throttle tube off if I didn't have to.
