I know this is a GSX-S1000/F forum but it would be interesting to see what people owned before they got their GSX-S1000/F or what they still own with the GSX-S1000/F...

I'll start this. What we as a family owned. And the last two is not the same brand as usual but I had to start somewhere(LS125R 2-stroke) and dad loved the look of the Triumph since he saw a small pic in a bike magazine back home(South Africa) and he owned one of the first 4000 made.

I'm not good with pics.

My 2012 ninja 1000 is a good bike. I've added are flash, exhaust, suspension and brake mods. It runs, on top, like a suzuki gsxs, but has much more low-mid power.

I love my 2008 concours 14. Its big, fat, overweight and obese. BUT, it also handles like you wont believe and has power left after 140mph. With saddelbags on.

My 2006 yz 250 two stroke has a 300cc big bore kit. A close ratio six speed means it will wheelie over, in ever gear, if your not careful. I broke two rear fenders and friends did in another two.

Many bikes before that, but that whats currently in the garage.

This is my 53rd year of owning motorcycles, starting with a Suzuki 50 whilst I was still at school. A succession of Triumphs followed, including a competitive supercharged Triumph drag bike. In recent years, I've tended to hang onto my bikes and since the early 90's, have only owned a BMW K100RS, a Honda Blackbird and until last October, a Street Triple. In terms of overall enjoyment, the Triple was probably the best and it was a close call as to whether I bought another one. However, the uncertainty over whether Triumph is going to release an 800 version tipped me in favour of the Suzuki!

Not as many as some but still a pretty good amount. Life is too short to own only 1 bike. I have friends who will only ever ride a Harley. And not just any Harley, but only 1 particular model. I think how sad I must be to spend ones entire life riding only one bike without having any idea what it's like to ride anything else.

How long did you have your Street Triple? I had mine for 6 years and loved it. Whilst the GSX-S is a great bike and I don't regret buying it, the Triple did everything that that I want from a bike so well.

I had my Triple for 6 years and couldn't agree more. It did everything, including a 1000 mile trip up to the Isle of Skye. It had bags of torque and was plenty quick enough. I was sorry to see it go.
The gsxs is similar but a bit more hardcore.
