Whilst trying to see if the GSX-S has a secret menu I stumbled upon how to
change how the rev display reads.
Hold down SEL on the dash and turn the ignition on.
Wait 4 seconds and the rev display will keep going up and down.
Push SEL on the dash to cycle through the different displays (4 or 5 types I think)
When you're happy with the display simply turn off ignition and it will save.

Turn on the killswitch before you leave ignition on for a while as to not overheat the coils.

It is a really good sound for a stock system, I have had no issues with
cars or pedestrians not hearing me.

Yeah I've pretty much tried everything obvious and a lot of stupid things.
I did have a moment when the screen blinked but I haven't been able to replicate it. I think it's going to be a diagnostic tool accompaniment.
