Do I really have to lift the tank to take the slack out of the clutch cable? I wish that I would have known when I put the o2 sensor eliminator in. :(

In the service manual, it says to lift the tank. I'm out of adjustment at the handle so I need to tighten it up at the other end.

I'm not near mine at the moment, but I'm fairly certain you can adjust it at the other end. Since the K5-8 had a hydraulic clutch, ours still utilizes a push-rod, so the cable end is on the kick-stand side, just go take a look at it. If you're completely out of slack on the lever end, you could probably just rotate the linkage that the cable attaches to on the other end.

Definitely Not.
Look down at the engine on the lefthand side as you sit on the bike. You have a black clutch cable attached to a silver lever. ( it will move if you pull the clutch lever in and out, you can't miss it)
loosen the locking nut, rotate the cable to take up the slack and then retighten the locking nut. Easy peasey!;)

Nope!
But you arn't far off.
The steel cable you have pictured comes out the end of a fatter cable. This fatter cable has a thread mechanism attached to its end and a lock nut. If you undo the lock nut then you can rotate the silver threaded bit.
It's about 3 inches further up the cable from the lever you have pictured:)

no look from that point and about 60 mm towards the engine you will see some threads sticking out of the casing behind that there is a lock nut and adjuster, its a bit awkward to get at but can be done

Thanks. I saw the silver tube with threads on it but I wasn't sure if I could get behind it.

Since I am on a roll with stupid questions I might as well keep going. What type of wrench do you use to get it loose? I'm not sure that I have anything that will fit in the space allotted.
