nice!!!! got to wait for the alarm to be fitted to mine :( but im going to the TT on friday so can't get it till then so works out well :)
I guess these are all nakeds... anyone in the UK have a date for their F yet?
Getting mine tomorrow and the heatwave starts tomorrow :D
I'm proper getting excited now.
I've never bought brand new before and was wondering, is it better to break in the engine quickly or just take it easy over a couple of months?
Everyone has their own thoughts on running in, but no one can seem to offer hard evidence of benefits or detrimental effects of one way or the other. I'm inclined to go with the manufacturer's advice which is normally not to exceed 70-80% throttle and rev range for about 500 - 600 miles and not to labour the engine.
I meant more like the time I can get to 500-600 miles If I did that that in a week would it affect the engine compared to if I take 3-4 months to get to the 600 mile mark?

Wellcome to the club! I was told mine bike would be dealed in the half of june but i have the preasent on the 21 of may! It's so incredibile to drive and so difficult to resist to make the running good. My dealer said me it's not necessary to be obsessively cared about it, only not to go over 7000 in the first time, but i would be perfect, so the manual suggest: first 800 km (533 mile) under 5700 gpm, until 1600 km (1066 mile) under 8600, over 1600 km (1066 mile) under 11500...it's very hard 😈😱😬😈

Take as long as you want, won't make any difference. I'd do it in a day if I could lol

To my knowledge, heat cycles are an important part of breaking an engine in. I wouldn't do it all in one day but in the past I'd have gone through at least 5 heat cycles for 500 - 600 miles. So a week or so should do it, riding every day. Enjoy :)
i have finally got an answer from my dealer via suzuki europe. Looks like i might if i am lucky get my bike by august 3 months after the initial confirmed delivery date. and just in time to look at it and then put it away for the winter :(

here is what my dealer had to say

"unfortunately i don't have good news for you. The situation is that the production of the GSX-S1000F is delayed.
Suzuki Norway is waiting for confirmation of a shipping date of 20. June from Japan.
Transport to Europe is expected to be approx 5 weeks.

I'm sorry for this delay. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do but wait.
You will still be one of the first 3 in Norway to get this bike.
I understand if you want to cancel your contract, that's ok. This bike will be a quick sale for us when it arrives. "

Can anyone else confirm they have heard the production of the F version is delayed or am i being fed a line here ?

*EEK* that's not good. I spoke to my dealer today and he told me he hadn't heard anything about delivery of my F so was still expecting them in about 4 weeks from now.
I got my GSX S1000 last Saturday (30/5/2015), I think it was one of the first to get delivered, enjoying it so far!

Well my CB went tonight, so now, for the first time, I'm without a bike in the garage.... pleeeeeeeeease let the F's land in the UK on time!!!
I was told the F version would be in the UK approx four weeks after the unfaired version.

If it takes five weeks to ship from Japan then surely they must be on there way..........or perhaps the F's are being flown in specially (as the demo bikes appear to have been) as we have all been waiting so patiently for them !!.

I'm so glad I decided to buy a "fill in" bike for Summer 2015 as the F is quickly starting to look like being a 2016 model after all.

Forgot to intro' myself, sorry !!

Welcome! Seriously thinking about dropping a bit of cash on another bike until my F arrives!
Martin,
If you drop cash on another we are all likely to get F deliveries almost immediately - its called "sods law".

You have come up with a very good plan, please can you put it into action tomorrow or latest Monday so the rest of us can get our F's out and about by next weekend and show those unfaired gsxs what a real bike looks like with its clothes on !!
