A while back I was surfing the "show your best photo" thread and noticed the muffler Devonblue had on his bike, loved the wide mouth exit (you could barely see it in his photo). I messaged him asking what exhaust it was, and he sent me the link https://delkevic.co.uk/Suzuki/GSX-S1000 /2017/mini-200mm-round-carbon-fibre-silencer-gsx1000s-2015-2017.html?search=

Delkevic is out of UK. Not bad for $240. This is simple cylindrical carbon sleeve, and "Mini" as only 200 cm long. Ordered and installed, fast delivery, and I love it! Excellent quality. Comes with removable baffle, but better tone without it (definitely on the loud side).

I first bought the Akrapovic Ti slip on (just sold it here), then the Yoshimura Alpha carbon, and now this. I think this Delkevic makes the bike look way bad ass from behind.

Edit: I painted the stock heat shield black since taking these photos, looks killer.

Looks good rapido. Should post a new pic of the black heat shield, it'll compliment your entire bike. I like the exhaust though. Did you go gloss or matte or semi gloss black on the heat shield?

I definitely referred to your pics FP to double check the idea, what you did looked great. I wet sanded, a couple of thin coats primer, then spayed with my can of ColorRite black frame paint I had left over from my (sold) FZ-09, more on the flat side, but not deep black. Will post a pic.

Please keep in mind this post is about the exhaust not the heat shield.

Im aware, and the exhaust looks good but you should post a sound youtube clip. As awesome as it looks, im curious how it sounds with that wide opening. From behind the large opening does indeed look nice.

I noticed the website states it is not road legal in the UK.
Wouldn't do for me as I am a "goody two shoes". 0:) Don't know if that phrase resonates outside of the UK.:)

To be fair there seems to be more and more of a clamp down on noise levels in the UK these days, recent MOT changes have made it very difficult too. Noise must be close to the expected levels from a standard exhaust on the bike...you'll note the dB levels sticker on newer bikes now too...

https://www.mot-testing.service.gov.uk/documents/manuals/class12/Section-8-Exhaust-noise.html

Was part of the reason I traded in my rocket 3 roadster, all the exhaust mods I wanted to do would result in MOT failure and there were no aftermarket options to be lawful either.

The fact that these have a dB killer and the bike has a noise cancelling box underneath too means it would be ok though. I don't suspect the dB levels are too high here because if it, just basier!

Boys, keep in mind with the sock exhaust system, adding a slip on really doesn't raise the volume level. If you remove the stock silencer and start the bike, the noise level is about the same.

So if noise level wasn't an issue, how do you like the look of this muffler?

Hey "Mr. Shoes", what about the road legality of a custom-mapped PCV? Just saying........in an extremely lighthearted manner.

Penguin, as per your request, here are a couple of pics of the painted heat shield.
The exhaust looks sick, and you blackened the shield completes your bike.
I dig it a lot. Goodjob matching the frame, I think that looks better than matching the engine casing actually myself.

It's a great color black for frame match of 2015 FZ-09 ColoRite, but the can of spray paint is like $30 (a small price to pay for perfection)! It does look OEM on the bike. It actually matches the plastic side panels under the seat and tank and the lower plastic nose wedges perfectly

Glad you got it sorted, looks really good, May have to paint my heat shield as so much better in black.

Thanks Devon! If you don't mind spending $30 on a can of spray paint, I highly recommend the ColoRite as I described above, it is not a store bought pure black, looks totally OEM.

Would love to hear a sound clip of the new exhaust. I found it on amazon about a week ago for $270 which isn't bad at all. Wasn't so sure on the quality and sound.
