What are the socket head screws for at the end of the muffler, has anyone tried to see what's inside and if the muffler or any part of it can be removed or modified to give it a bit more noise , I don't mind at all the look of the original unlike most stock mufflers but I am not a big fan of the sound , a bit tinny for me

It is just a fancy end cover- the muffler is fully welded.
The outlet pipe bends down inside the rear of muffler so is a dB killer of sorts, but no easy way to remove. You could experiment and drill some holes in the back of the internal bend.
Most of the silencing though is probably in the lower cat/ muffler box

Cheers mate, yeah just after posting I had a good look inside and around and could see it doesn't do too much, your right and I think that cat box has to go
