I was just messing around on Ebay last night while participating in another thread, and made a low-ball offer on this $170 ECU, and the seller accepted it ($120)! I don't need it. I already have 2 ECU's.

EDIT: I decided to have this new Ebay ECU sent to Dano for a flash, thus will be selling a DANO FLASHED ECU. Ready to go. $310.

It doesn't matter what year the ECU is if it's going to be flashed. The internal program will be completely changed with the flash. The connectors are same all years.

I can have the seller ship directly to you, or Dano for a flash. $120.

That's great that you will do this for someone here. 0:)
I am sure that there is a Buyer for you very soon.

I am open to correction on this, but the Forum has been previously told that there is a difference in wiring positioning with the ECU connection block's wiring.
It's in regards to the security reader pickup ring that the coded ignition key talks too.
The US bikes didn't have this, at least the early years.

So an non US Market Buyer should buy this ECU with this thought through if they don't have a US spec bike ( + Ca ?)
This was found when someone bought a used one on Ebay while back.
There's a Tread on it somewhere. He ended up using the 1000 as weekend track bike.

Also, only the .bin binary file for the fuel mapping is wiped, not the entire chip.
The rest of the programming is needed for the bike to run the things like ABS, TC, Instrument's etc.

I would assume this ECU is for U.S. model then.

Dano flashed ECU for sale! Who's gonna grab it? I think his flash is $180 plus $120 for the ECU = $310
($10 for shipping)

This is what the Dano's ECU flash will have that is for sale. Exactly what is necessary for a full exhaust system/optimum performance:

Unify/optimize fuel maps
Disable fuel cut on deceleration
Set fan temp 205/195
Remove top speed limiter
Disable O2 sensor
Remove secondary throttle plate restrictions
Disable exhaust valve (servo motor)
