Just received my 2021 insurance renewal (picture attached). 2018 GSX-S1000f is $343.00 annual. 2016 Bandit is $307.00 annual. Total is $650.00 annual. Since I pay annual in full, I get a $112.00 discount bringing my net premium for both bikes to $538.00 annual. And this is for full coverage on both bikes. Progressive Insurance.

It’s due to my history and credit score etc. I’m 30, 820 credit, never a ticket or accident. I’m talking, not a single violation since my licensing at 16 years old

got aHarley and sport bike. Combined a year, not storage etc. but 12 month full premium is 80 a year.
Stack additional discounts for being militsry and also police officer through a company USAA.
60 for sportbike a year and like 20-30 for the Harley. Had a 125 zuma it didn’t even raise my rates. Lol

they told me I’m at the lowest possible rate offered in any shape or form, one bike wouldn’t drop below then80 a year total.

I was wrong, I pay 95 a year. It shows breakdown of both bikes, there must be 30 dollars in fees behind the bikes to make the difference. There’s taxes etc

I guess having a class A misdemeanor speeding doesn't help. At least my credit is impeccable. Last time an email said it was around 835-840 or so. So mine is like 260 for the GSXS and XR650.

Let me clarify. If I was living where Gritty is living, the money I am spending on my gsx for insurance in Canada, would be enough to insure 14 bikes where he lives. I’m paying $1770 for the gsxr alone. Insurance here is a major rip off. Even with covid causing a great decline in vehicles being used on a regular basis, therefore less claims, the insurance companies are still putting up their rates.

Yeah, it was 45 a month if I recall. But if I wreck the bike I will simply buy another one. Imo comp is crap, not worth it. It’s 99% chance if I’m hit Itl be someone else’s fault. I’d rather save $ than pay that much to be given blue book anyway.

I’ve had several driving courses from being a police officer too, tons of high speed driving and I’ve been through several motorcycle courses and track days.

I feel pretty confident that I don’t feel I need coverage from my own actions.

3 years of his insurance he can but a gsxs1000 off another member. That’s why imo high ass comp rates are garbage.

If I take comp coverage off, I save about $100. It used to make a big difference to do so, but now they price collision so high it’s negligible. The majority of my premium is accident benefits. Benefits as a retired person I don’t actually need, but can’t decline because they’re mandatory. Insurance companies here can’t decline to insure you by law, but if they don’t want you, they just charge such a high premium, that no one will take out a policy.

A few years back they reduced accident benefits coverage for all auto policies, but kept the premium the same. If you want the same coverage benefits that were, you have to pay extra. I heard a talk show where an insurance rep was asked the simple question, “so insurance companies are charging more for the same coverage as previously?” Answer, “no, but if you want to increase your accident benefits, you have to pay extra.” Unbelievable, an outright lie. Insurance in Ontario, is and has always been a rip off.

The benefit of living in a more socialist state than the US! Although with the new POTUSA we may go in that direction. You guys up north have a lot harder time with guns, too. Although with the ammo shortage right now it doesn't really matter.
