You're welcome. I'm currently working out the logistics of sorting out a tidy and OEM looking switch for the headlight. It baffles me why they would have these day running fang lights then leave the bloody headlight on.

I was getting confused myself... H4 is dual filament which would make perfect sense on the single unit. H1 and H7 are the single filament, looks like the other half isn't getting a bulb upgrade after all :D

I know that this is an old thread but I've just ordered the Ring Automotive +130 Xenon which I fitted to the Street Triple for doing an organised 1000 miles in under 24 hours Iron Butt ride. I do a fair bit of night riding on twisty, unlit roads so decent lighting is important.

The Triple lights were quite poor in standard form so I upgraded to 60/55W Osram Nightbreakers which were a big improvement. When Ring introduced their 60/55W +120 Xenon bulb, I decided to give that a try and got another big gain. They now have a +130, so will be giving that a go.

There are some comparative photos here: Confessions of an Ageing Motorcyclist: Let there be light - lots of it, and there was!

It's a pity that manufacturers don't fit high quality bulbs as standard.

Trouble with bright halogen bulbs is they are way more expensive and don't last as long. I have a pair of Philips Xtreme waiting to go in, but I'm still undecided if to use them or not. I don't do much night riding and as the headlight is on all the time, I don't want to be forever changing the headlight bulb. This was my experience when I used to run upgraded bulbs in one of my previous cars. In the end I went back to standard halogen.

That's generally correct. The Ring ones I used are Xenon and I'm not sure about their life because although they said 400-500 hours minimum, mine had been in for around 3 years before I recently sold the Triple and I do about 15-20,000 km per year which is fine. The other benefit is that cars you're catching up on in daylight certainly know you're there! However, it's that old "fitness for purpose" adage!

Have just received Ring Automotive Xenon 60/55W +130's from the UK (Car Bulbs, Headlight Bulbs, Wiper blades, headlamp bulbs, Xenon Bulbs: Autobulbs Direct Ltd). I had the 120's in my Street Triple and cannot speak highly enough of them. Long-lasting too. Will swap the bulbs in the next few days when the screen arrives to save taking it to bits twice!

Addendum: Ring +130 bulb now fitted (far right photo) - much whiter and brighter but will need to get out for a night run to assess it. The +120 was fine on the last Iron Butt I did on the Street Triple so not expecting to be disappointed!

Let us know if you find something...
I hate headlight on with DRL too.
