Hello people. I have just picked up a new GSX-S1000FA in Red/Black. Ive done about 100 miles so far, all is well!
Ive had loads of road bikes over the last few years and also race a steel frame CBR600 for fun in club meetings in the UK.
I've always fancied a GSX-R1000 with high bars, so thank you Suzuki!!
I find the much talked about snatchy throttle is evident but not the end of the world. I may get a power commander fitted, not sure yet.
I'm finding the front suspension a little harsh but again, early days.
I'll get the suspension dialled in by a local set up guy.
First impressions are great, feels very light on the move and drops on its ear without any effort.
First time on the Dunlops, i'm usually strictly a Pirelli fan. I will change to Diablo Rosso 3's when these are spanked. The Dunlops feel fine, no worries.
I'm enjoying reading the opinions, tips and advice from the more experienced owners, keep it coming and thank you!

Welcome Aboard:)
I had a pretty good time romping around the dales on mine not too long ago.
You've certainly got some good scenery to go out and play in.
Std settings don't cut it too well on your bumpy roads you'll probably need a bit more rebound front and rear once you get it run in and up too speed.
Enjoy!

Aye up mate. Welcome.

My granddad was from Leeds but came to the US in his 30s. People would hear his accent and ask where he was from. "Leeds," he'd say. If they asked where that was, he instantly hated them. He also would never utter the word "French" without following it with "bastards." It could have been salad dressing... "Pass the French bastards" dressing... Lol.

Welcome from sunny Devon

If you don't get used to the throttle you should consider an ECU remap instead of a power commander
Speak to hilltop motorcycles 01455 848522 mine was done there
I've just got back from a few days riding over the Alps, beautiful smooth throttle, which is what I needed for all those hairpins

Newby update.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Ive done another 400 miles over the weekend and absolutely love it!
Ive had a street triple in a past life and thought that was almost the perfect mix of power/weight/handling/braking.
I ride fairly enthusiastically on the road and do track days as well as race, the Triumph "was" my favourite road bike owned so far.
The Suzuki feels like a street triple with muscles!
The handling and braking are superb. I'm still running in so not delved into the big power yet.
I have adjusted the suspension in line with one of the contributors on here and its made a huge difference. The standard settings were all over the place, nothing was level or co-ordinated on the forks.
The more i ride it, the more i do believe it needs a remap or similar to overcome the initial throttle surge. I'll be contacting Hilltop for advice.

Happy days!:D
