Nope no regrets...I didn't rate the DDC. Very limited to what can be done to the suspension unless you had a big wallet... Otherwise, a simply awesome bike, probably the most fun bike I've ever had...if the GSX doesn't flick my switch I'll be buying a standard S1000 again.
Nice, sounds like a good plan.
Are there any other bikes you're looking into or do you just have your options narrowed down to these two?
That was quite the sale. Do you have another bike to tie you over until you are able to get your hands on the GSXS1000? Would be sad to sell that and be motorcycle-less for over a year.

Yeah pretty much them two. I'd like the KTM SD but it's too overpriced IMO. I was really hoping Yamaha was going to release something funky, R1 based at the show but not to be.
What other bikes have you considered?

I had a WR250 and a super Tenere to ride but they've both gone now too...I'm preparing to move back to the UK soon so selling up. I've got my girlfriends cb500f to tootle around on in the meantime:D

Nice toy to mess around with. Is anything done to the CB?

Where do you like best and where has the better bike scene? UK or where you're at now? I heard the UK has a decent bike scene.

I'm in Canada bud, BC...it's very nice here but you mentioned one of the main reasons i want to go back....yep, the biking scene is much better in the UK and Europe. I miss it too much hence I'm returning home.... There's only so much sitting in traffic, when it's 35 degC, I could take lol...
good reasons to go

i know if it was up to me i'd probably get a place down in some southern american state, UK or EU would be too hardcore of a move for me.

do keep us posted on how things go when you reach their.

@chr1s

I was looking at the Duke 690 myself but somwething about that single just doesnt do it for me. And yes its on the pricey side and also not too many KTM dealers around it would be a bitch down the road if I needed something.

How was the s1000r though, why did you give that up? Got a chance to sit on one and it was not too bad at all. Reach for the grips was alright not saddle was decent.

The S1000R was simply awesome.....but i didn't like the DDC. Or rather I didn't like that I couldn't adjust it enough. I think it works great on the track but for ****ty roads, not so. The range of settings wasn't enough IMO. To fix that would cost a lot of pennies. I wish I'd bought the standard version instead and I may well in the future if the GSX doesn't work out.
