Hi All,

I have been interestingly reading all your post's on the PC5 and snatchy
throttle after test riding a gsxs1000 at Crescent motorcycles in Verwood dorset.

I have put a holding deposit on a blue F version from Robinsons in Rochdale (as it was a bloody good price £8495 for a pre reg bike with no miles on it!!) but have not pushed the button yet.

I loved riding the naked version yesterday but do concour with the snatchy throttle, although it was not too bad on the demo bike.

I usually ride a cbf1000, so the gsxs was a rocketship compared to that at the
top end, the missus obviously did not like the look of the pillion seat but I am keeping the cbf for two up touring duties as it is so comfortable, the suzuki is a treat for me, as it's my birthday on the 5th!!

From what I have gleaned a PC5 is a must purchase, so i think i will get one
fitted from new, to sort out the throttle snatch.

I will be taking the bike to John Barnes motorcycle services in warmwell, as he is a suzuki specialist (has a K5 race bike and K7 gsxr 600 which he also races) who can reprogramme ecu's if necessary.

All in all looking forward to getting my new steed in the near future!!!

happy daze

I thought I got a deal at £9400 for my F, £8500 OTR for an F is a steal.... buy it.... BUY IT NOW!!

On your way down from Rochdale, pop in to Hilltop Motorcycles hilltop motorcycles 01455 848522 and get Geoff to remap it and the throttle issues will be a thing of the past ;-)

Congratulations on taking the plunge, I've been trying to decide on buying one myself, you obviously didn't find any catches.

the bike is glorious in so many ways. Once you tighten the throttle, you will love it that much more. And once you dial in the suspension for your weight, it rides like a ****ing dream !

thanks for replies guys

Hi All thanks for all the replys, i have just got to sort out the
paperwork next week and hopefully get it delivered down to dorset
by the weekend. I am not to popular with the missus, as she doesn't
understand why the cbf1000 is not good enough, but we all know it's just
an all rounder, but don't get me wrong a very capable bike with a buttery
smooth throttle!!!. Anyway I will be keeping that so I can go out with the
missus on the weekend and use the gsx for commutting and scratching
around dorset.

I would just go for it. Honestly, I don't think the throttle is bad at all. It's a touch sensitive but after some seat time and learning the bike, it goes away. At least for me it did...but I also came from a '14 FZ-09 that was absolutely atrocious. Heck, even with the flash, the Suzuki is better, IMO.

I don't believe the PC5 is a "must have" at all. Several guys have installed them with good results but if they are necessary has been a topic of debate.

I will admit the throttle SUCKED after my first ride. It was like a floppy sausage LOL. After a quick cable tightening, the throttle was perfect. A little touchy, but not bad.

Hi All thanks very much for your replies! I have her! and love it already!

:D

Hi all, I picked it up from Robinson's on sunday (a glorious sunny day!) and rode her back through the peak district, through buxton and then onto derby
and down the fosse way to cirencester, chippenham, warminster, yeovil and home.

I adjusted the throttle immediately and took out all the slack, and quite honestly
I don't think it's bad at all, you just need to be very accurate with your throttle
inputs, however my honda definitely has a much smoother throttle but that is a
much older design not restricted by eu emission regs so obviously runs richer.

Upshot is I love it a great bike, I just need to dial in my suspension as she does tend to run wide when you open her up coming out of a corner.

I weigh 106kg in my gear, I think slothman has some settings posted and he is
about the same weight.

I already have 500 miles on her!! after 2 days of ownership, so now back on
my honda cbf1000, as I can't get her serviced till monday the 16th, so a quick bimble on saturday and leave her down at the bike shop (John Barnes in Crossways, does tuning for crescent suzuki and races himself, so he could reprogramme my ecu if necessary, excellent chap brilliant mechanic)

Happy Daze!!!!:D
