I went the hole hog and put a three way Hyperpro shock in the back and Hyperpro springs in the front.
Much better ride over a wide range of riding. It’s all a bit more pert( sporty) but still has the comfort when I’m touring
Love it!

Noticed that the spring does most of the work with the shock as a backup. Definitely more feedback on the 20 mph twisters. I have mine set to 1 with .25 turns out on bottom.
More comfortable ride in general with progressive coils. My back was not nearly as fatigued at the end of my ride. Definitely worth the $150 instead of $1100 for a whole new shock.
So is the standard spring not progressive? This is interesting. Will have to research. The standard works for my weight but smother would always be better. Thinking about it the coils are evenly space so it would be linear. Hyperpro you say. Never heard of the brand. Good?

Had my shock four years now and it’s still just as good as when I bought it. I should probably have it serviced but after doing some test runs from factory set up today it only needed one extra click of compression to make it feel like new again.
I’m well pleased with it
