The best solo set up I have encountered on a SV1000. The base plate bolted down in place of the pillion seat and the box locked into it directly meaning no unsightly weak tubular rack. The bad points were it was a smaller 38 litre box and the narrower fitment lugs meant you couldnt use the larger givi/kappa equivalents. Quality was excellent though and the whole kit was £170. Amazed other manufacturers didnt take up this idea. I have done this idea on my B king and now my Gsxs as I dont carry passengers and the weight of the box is carried by the subframe designed for a 100kg rider/pillion.

Suzukis own. Hepco do a "Sportrack" item which is essentially a pillion seat metal plate to which you can add topcase mounts etc. About time the separate seat design was optimised. I will be removing my set up shortly for painting etc, if there is any interest I can take photos and make a description of the process should anyone else be interested in such a project.
