My screen, what is it good for?

The bike is second hand and came with a few extras one of which is this gaudy screen.
I comfort myself by saying it helps with my visibility.
Should I change it?

Personal preference but if it was my ride it would have already be changed out.

That grey is lovely. The screen looks like a relic from an early-noughties rat gsxr...

It looks like an Iridium tinted screen. They had a hey day as helmet visors a few years back. Very expensive, but no one could see the riders face.
It was claimed that they passed fewer UV rays towards the wearer skin.
Ask Mythbusters for a test.

Rob.

That screen would be gone, along with that god awful bobsleigh hand of a rack… If it was my bike…
Just saying…..

Thanks for the input, harsh as it is.
How do you carry your stuff on a long ride if you don’t have a rack to strap a bag onto?
Maybe you are pavement scratcher and dont do long rides but down here I use this for intercity visits and Sunday fun with a group of other old farts......some of whom have better bikes than this. We all take wet weather gear, tools, puncture kit, visor cleaning equipment, spare undies etc.
This is the F model after all.

Sorry for sounding harsh, each to their own, i have a set of panniers i fit on when i go touring and a small tank bag and rear tail pack, the pic was enough for an overnight stay.

No problem with your words....
Please tell me more about your tank bag and panniers.
And I like the dark look of your bike

Givi tanklock bag that clips onto a fuel cap bracket.
Tailback is a kregar bag for short trips.
Panniers are givi that have a bracket underneath the rear tail (leave on all year round) then side frame arms that attach to it and the pillion bolts. Panniers clip to the frame.

I had Givi hard panniers on my Bandit 1250... very useful.
Your comment re the high bar on my rack is accurate and deserved. I thought it should be lower too.
I tried undoing the two locking bolts but they were rusted in place and being an expert mechanic I sheered both off.
Working on a solution to that now.
Looks like the same brand I ordered of Amazon for $50 CAD shipped. It's available in different colors. It's good quality and fit. It shipped from China so you can probably order from anywhere.

I have the same color as you just not the F model. I don't think I could keep that color either. I don't use mine for traveling as I have a Goldwing if I want to do that. If the rack works for you so be it.

Thanks gentlemen for your comments.
I have seen the screens for sale in approximately eight colour/ shades on Aliexpress quite cheaply so once the spending for the holiday season is done I may well get a replacement.
I usually prefer understated liveries... the current screen is definitely not that.
I use some TUSK adventure saddlebags for everyday use. For multi day trips I use some tourmaster saddlebags and tail bag if needed, Easy on and off but you will need a saddlebag system like the SW Motec.
PS: Any color on an F is good by me.

That looks like a Chinese knock off of the Puig version which I sold recently. Amazing price.

How much did the Puig screen cost you ? The quality of these for the price is unbelievable 😉
I noticed a dull patch on my reflective screen, I tried to clean it away but no success.
I have purchased a replacement in gloss black for $NZ46 and am now thinking of a matt black spray can for the one I currently have....good old matt black is the cure all for any appearance issues.
