They give temp plates and you come back for actual in a few weeks but I actually bought it in PA and brought it back to NJ and registered at DMV next day.

Ah wild. Here in CA you get 4-6 weeks of anonymity until the plate comes in the mail, then an undisclosed amount time until you actually put it on. I like the cowl, on the to-do list.
