GSX-S 1000F owner since 2 months. (5100 km's on the clock!! What a wonderful bike...)
I've received the radiator hose recall letter.
While on the phone with the workshop, the guy told me vaguely of a second recall about the fuel pump.
In fact, in the last 2 months, there have been a couple instances where the fuel pump was noticeably louder at start-up than normal, and could be distinctly hearable while riding with the helmet.
It made a loud metallic whirr.
In both cases it stopped in an hour/half an hour riding, or the next day.

Have you heard something like that?

"Distinctly hearable", a high frequency whine that's not that loud, but that you can hear in almost all conditions and even under a helmet.
Truth is, it was so buzzing that my ears got used to it and after the ride my hearing was impaired in the high frequency.
By the way it's just a sound problem that occurred twice or thrice in 5000 km, no hesitation or fueling issues for the moment.

I think I'm ok for the time being, I did think it was noisy turning on ignition but I can't hear it whilst riding. I'm having my hose done Saturday so I'll ask if they've heard anything. I seem to know more than the dealers at times although I suspect they might be playing dumb.

You are ok maybe, but in my case, it started suddenly an afternoon while I was on vacation and was firing up the bike to return to the hotel.
Anyways you will notice it if it ever happens.
Yes, the pump is "normally" noisy in the pre-ignition phase, but by the time you press the starter it usually settles down to the normal noise level. when it does not happen any more, you have the problem.

Cheers/ Fingers crossed it's a dodgy batch then because in a couple of months the bike is being stripped down and I could do without the ball ache of getting work done over the winter.
