Weird... This is dust inside the air box (before the filter). It adhered to the plastic in these strange patterns for some reason. I see no kind of glue or substance that would attract it like that. It's not stuck there in the least and wipes right off with a fingertip. Cant figure it out.

With modern emissions, you cant just vent the crankcase into the atmosphere like we could in the old days.

Now, this vents into the airbox. Under normal conditions its normal to see a light, super light, mist oil film inside the airbox.

On some bikes, you'll see real oil build up if you fill to the top fill line and run at high rpm. The old Kawasaki zx12 did this.

I bet no one was when the new parts before assembly. No doubt there would be some sort of release agent present, on the plastic as well.

Did not see anything like that in mine but yours looks very pretty.
