It's not that dear when you see what Suzuki ask for a genuine stock shock.
15 years ago when I asked what a GSXR750 shock would cost as a spare part to go into the SV650S, it was around AU $1100.

Ugh...I agree! I just found these on a web search - what a disappointment.
