My local dealer wouldn't budge much. Got the MSRP down from $10,499 to $10,200 and got them to waive the delivery/set up fees ($898). So i'd be looking at just about under $11,500 out the door ($10,200 + $1000 tax + $150 doc fee + $120 license fee) for a 2016 GSX S1000 ABS. Decent deal?

That doesn't sound good at all. Mine was $10,500 OTD last October. See my post early in this thread. I assume you're talking about the GSX S1000 with ABS and not the 'F' model.

I got quoted $10,795 out the door in Georgia. Taxes, title, prep, etc. Ended up finding a used one with 2780 miles on it for $8649 out the door instead.

Got the dealer down to $11k. Lowest price I could find from another dealer in the area and that's blowout pricing around here...Think I'll go for it!

My local dealership has the Non-ABS versions listed at $8999 before taxes and fees. I live in North Carolina.

I stopped by to get some quotes. I was putting $5000 down, had a trade in worth $4000 at least. They told me I still would owe $1500! This was the same case for 3 dealerships. So that would be $10,500 OTD. I've never purchased a brand new bike before so any tips on lowering that price would be appreciated, can't wait to get one of these.
NEVER trade in something. You can get 30-50% more if you can sell privately.

Got my S1000F for 11,650 OTD in the NYC area. Shopped around literally every dealer within 75 mile radius and that was the best price I could get. I probably could have traveled further for a better deal but not worth the effort and I think its a fair price.

True, but here in Texas and some other states, you only pay sales tax on the difference between the trade and the purchase price. So, if you're paying $12,000 for a bike and get $7,000 for a trade, you only pay tax on $5,000.

Much of the time you still come out ahead by selling but the difference is a lot less. Then you have the problem of waiting until you sell your current bike, some guys don't want to wait. They want their new bike NOW. Plus, it's not always easy to sell a used bike. Craigslist is full of them and some take months to move.

$10,400 OTD. Blue Naked ABS version OTD including 7% sales tax and title fees. My original quote was for $10,200 but the bike that they quoted over the phone didn't have ABS even though they thought it did. I could have gotten $10,200 at another dealer but it's 3.5 hours away. I figured that I spend that much on truck rental, gas and misc expenses. The up side is that I get the color I want and the bike is in a crate and never been touched.

The dealer I got my last bike from (FZ-07) has non abs listed at $7,999 and abs listed at $8,499. I got a great deal on my FZ from them, so I may be getting one of these sooner than thought. I always buy in winter unless I get what I consider an amazing deal.
