One of the paddocks worst kept secrets has been officially acknowledged today at INTERMOT...

Suzuki team boss Davide Brivio unveiled the latest version of Suzuki's MotoGP bike - now dubbed GSX-RR - and announced that Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales will race for the team. At the same time, Suzuki also confirmed that Randy De Puniet will race as a wildcard on the bike at the final MotoGP round of the season at Valencia.
Suzuki held on until INTERMOT for one specific reason, marketing. They debuted the GP program alongside their 2015 road lineup, the bike is now dubbed the GSX-RR, Its clear Suzuki wants one to equal the other, at least in terms of success and popularity. No factory is going to face if they aren't coming out on the winning end of the trade financially.

This bike looks great, and it would be pretty cool if Suzuki could actually win a race with this bike. That may be a bit of a reach though.

Not right away, the program is too new. Data is king in MotoGP, especially when it comes to programming the software each bike runs. Honda for example has a turn by turn TC map, meaning everything is optimized for each part of the track. Suzuki is not at that level yet.

I would not expect them challenging for W's next year, in 2016 when the spec ECU comes in it will be a different story...

Good to know that.
At least they're on track to being on the track come 2016. It's going to be a wait, but worth it.

They have a couple of great young riders on board too. Pol Espagaro and Maverick Vinales. Just prior to announcement Pol took second at aragon in GP and Maverick took the W in Moto2.

Serious talent to grow with into the future!

And they had the GSX-RR out at Motegi this weekend, the new with the old!

By the way thats THE Mister Kevin Schwantz on the RR ;)

^because double world champion...

You guys been following young Maverick? Either he's worried about saddling up an uncompetitive bike next year or hes just telegraphing how much business he means, but hes won 3 of the last 4 Moto2 races and finished second in the one he didn't win. Kind is ICE cold, unreal...

Randy DePuniet will debut the GSX-RR this weekend as a wildcard at Valencia! Lets see how competitive the Zook boys can be at this phase. Anything in the top 10 should leave them ecstatic...
