Suzuki Gsx s 1000gt engine noise

I’m at 2k on my GT+ and I tend to agree that it’s probably not a problem and yes, mine has it. Two points to consider:

1. This is essentially a K5 motor with different cams, and tensioner. Suzuki would have tested a number of these engines (this generation) during development and they of course they heard it.

2. Suzuki will not do anything about it because of point #1. (The engineers in Japan probably shrugged their shoulders).

I would bet huge $$$$ that nothing is wrong and it’s just the way this cam / valve train sounds. The desmodromic valve train in my Panigale motor is very loud at idle.

Hi ya G hope your well and thanks for your reply but the Knocking was from my crank area and not a chain rattle or cam noise, I have had 81 bikes over the years and many Suzuki so I do know the difference ?? Suzuki and dealer let me down even when I gave them a choice of money back or different exchange bike ! but to no avail , enjoy your bikes rgds.

Hi did you get to the bottom of the tapping noise. I also have this tapping noise
